If you’re in need of help for your business, you might want to turn to one of the many job posting sites online. The best job posting sites will help you find the right person for the job, whether it’s a standard employee, freelancer, a contracted employee, or management professional.
Each job posting site has different benefits for different employer (or employee) needs. There are job sites that job seekers browse to look for a variety of different jobs.
And there are job sites that specialize in a certain career niche. We’ll share a bit about several job sites and what they are primarily used for, which type of worker they’re geared toward, and more.
Best Job Posting Sites For Standard W-2 Employees
The job posting sites mentioned here are great for one-stop standard employee shopping. Unlike niche sites like the ones mentioned below, these sites will help you shop for employees in any field or job position.
1. Monster
Monster has been in the business of connecting employers with employees for over 25 years. Today they’ve evolved with added features such as the ability to add free videos to job postings and distribution to local news sites.
Another fun feature: Pre-written job descriptions. You can write your own or Monster’s for fast and easy job posting.
Monster has three different job posting packages for employers. The Starter Package is $279 per month and gives you the ability to post one job at a time. You get access to unlimited applicants, unlimited searches, and 50 resume views.
Monster’s Standard Package is $399 per month and lets you post three jobs at a time with unlimited applicants and 150 resume views. This package also includes Performance Boost; a feature that sends your job postings to hundreds of relevant websites.
And the Premium Package costs $749 per month and allows for five job postings at a time. You can view up to 250 resumes each month and get the Performance Boost feature as well.
Standard and Premium packages include additional features such as precision candidate filtering and direct contact with candidates via email or text.
Monster has custom pricing solutions for larger corporations. And all three employer packages come with a free 7-day trial.

2. Indeed
Indeed launched in 2004 and receives over 250 million visitors to its website every single month. As far as job posting goes, Indeed works a bit differently than Monster.
With Indeed you can post job listings for free. However, the free job postings you list on Indeed will lose visibility as more jobs are added each day.
If you want your job posting to remain near the top of the search list you can pay for what Indeed calls a Sponsored Job listing. The Indeed website says that sponsored listings are 3.5 times more likely to result in a hire than non-sponsored job postings.
The cost for an Indeed sponsored job listing varies, and Indeed’s customer service center can help you set a budget that fits your needs. It’s a pay-per-click concept, and you’ll typically pay between $0.25 and $1.50 per click.
The main attraction to Indeed for employers is the volume of traffic it gets every month. However, you probably won’t get many results if you do a free job listing.
Instead, pay for a sponsored listing that fits your budget.
Best Job Posting Sites For Finding Freelancers And Independent Contractors
If you’re searching for freelance workers or independent contractors, consider using one of these sites to post your job listing.
3. FlexJobs
FlexJobs is the largest job posting site targeting flexible workers such as remote workers, job sharers, and freelancers. The job you list must be flexible. If you are looking for an employee to be in the office from 9 to 5 on Monday through Friday then FlexJobs will not accept your submission.
As an employer looking to list job openings, FlexJobs offers multiple benefits including:
- Unlimited job postings
- Unlimited resume views
- Customized employer profiles including social media links and more
- Data reporting for job postings
Other features include targeted email blasts for your job openings, social media promotional campaigns, and the ability to pay for premium placements for job postings. Additionally, FlexJobs offers expert consulting for employers looking to implement remote work schedules or employers who want branding advice.
With FlexJobs you have the option to pay monthly, quarterly, or annually. They do not offer a free plan but if you aren’t satisfied within the first seven days of your plan you can cancel and request a refund.
Prices as of this writing are as follows:
- $299 per month
- $729 per quarter
- $2,699 per year
The annual pay program offers the most money savings, but only if you’ll use FlexJobs for an entire year. If you’re looking to fill an occasional opening you are probably better off taking the monthly or quarterly subscription package.
FlexJobs does allow employers to post jobs for free, but only if that job is for a remote worker, a freelance worker, or a flex-schedule job opening.
4. Upwork
Upwork is a job site database for remote and freelance works in fields such as design, writing, web development, sales and marketing, engineering, and more.
When you post a job on Upwork, you’ll get qualified bids or proposals within 24 hours. You can use the site to chat with prospective contractors or freelancers, ask questions and get more information.
Choose the freelancer with whom you’d like to work and hash out any details about your project, whether it’s a one-off task or a longer-term contract.
Upwork is the middle man for payments. You pay the freelancer through Upwork and they handle paying the freelancer.
Upwork has three different packages for employers to choose from:
- Basic: Free job postings, verified work history/reviews (free)
- Plus: All of the Basic features plus tailored search results and dedicated account management help ($49.99 per month)
- Enterprise: Customizable services for larger companies with ongoing needs (call to find out pricing)
All of the Upwork employer plans come with unlimited proposals from freelancers and built-in collaboration tools on the site. There are no contracts with the Basic and Plus programs. Call to find out specific details on the Enterprise program.

Best Job Posting Sites For Management Positions
While you can advertise for — and find — management employees on popular sites like Indeed, you may have more luck posting your job opening on one of the sites listed below.
5. Glassdoor
One of the reasons Glassdoor is a great site to post management position openings on is because they have a strong focus on employer branding.
When you post a job opening on Glassdoor, you have access to a host of tools that can attract top management talent. There are options for employers to add such as:
- A video sharing a synopsis of your company
- Tabs for adding your company’s culture, mission, and values
- Information on specific departments within your company
The site allows for current and former employees to leave reviews of your company and has space for you to comment on those reviews. Glassdoor has an analytics page that will show you how your job posting is performing compared to similar job postings at other companies.
There’s also a Competitor Profiles feature that allows you to promote your company and job openings on the profiles of competitor companies. These added features make Glassdoor a strong competitor in the job posting website arena.
Glassdoor doesn’t share pricing on their site; you’ve got to contact the company and share your needs to get that information.
Note that you can post jobs for free on Glassdoor, but as with Indeed, free job postings will drop down on the search results list fairly quickly.
Glassdoor has millions of monthly website visits because its focus on company transparency is attractive to job seekers everywhere, including management employees. Use this to your advantage and consider posting management openings here.
6. LinkedIn
When you think of LinkedIn, you might find that the first word that comes to mind is “networking.” This is exactly why LinkedIn can be a great choice for finding management employees.
As an employer, you can visit a potential employee’s LinkedIn profile and learn a lot about them before you even conduct an interview. Additionally, you can connect with people based on their career choice long before you have a job opening.
Doing so can be a great way to create some valuable connections and reach out to them when you do have a need within your company.
The LinkedIn website says that over 25 million people view and apply for jobs each week on the site and that someone is hired every eight seconds with LinkedIn.
When you post a job opening on LinkedIn, you’ll get access to features such as:
- The ability to use pre-populated templates for job positions and coordinating skill sets
- Additional screening features such as required questions on the job application
- Auto-rejection messages so that rejected clients hear back from you
As with Indeed, LinkedIn charges on a pay-per-click basis. This means you set the budget for the jobs you post. However, don’t expect to get big results with a small budget. The more faces your job posting is in front of, the better chance you have of finding the right employee.
Best Job Posting Site For Technical Employees
Technical job positions are in a class all on their own. When it comes to the tech features of your business, you need to have an employee or contractor you can count on to know their stuff.
7. Dice
Dice is the only tech-focused job database in the world, with 1.5 million monthly users, 9+ million tech profiles, and 2.7 million visible resumes. Because of those stats, Dice is the go-to job posting site for anything tech-related:
- Project managers
- Data analysts
- Web developers
- Systems administrators
- And more
Single job posts cost $395 per month. If you’re posting two jobs each job will cost $325 per month. 3-4 job posts cost $305 per month each, and 5-10 job posts cost $250 per month each.
No matter which package you choose, you get added benefits such as job post-sharing. Dice will share your job posting with over 3,000 partner sites.
Dice has additional features you can use as well, such as a 60+ million person tech-candidate database. The site has a resume searching feature, targeted hiring campaigns, premium listings, and a concierge service that will source and screen potential candidates.
Dice also has state-of-the-art fraud detection to help screen its database so you can find real talent and not resume fluff. The system uses AI-driven search programming as well, populating a list of potential job candidates for you within seconds.
Best Job Posting Site For Sales Employees
Having the right sales staff means business growth; having the wrong sales staff can result in stagnation or decline. There’s one sales job posting site that stands out above the rest for finding the right salesperson for your company.
8. SalesJobs
There’s a reason SalesJobs is the only job posting site we’re mentioning in this section. It’s the oldest and largest employment site focusing solely on sales positions.
And it has more traffic than all other sales job sites combined. With a 20+ year track record, it’s the go-to site for sales employees, and as such it’s a great site for you to post your sales position needs.
SalesJobs has three packages for you to choose from as an employer: $199 per month, $299 per month, and $399 per month.
- $199 package offers one job posting at one location. You can edit, delete, swap, or change your posting at any time. It’s a single-user program with no contracts; you can cancel anytime.
- $299 package offers unlimited jobs and locations. It also offers unlimited length of posting (i.e. word count) and time position is posted. Cancel anytime.
- $399 package offers all of the above, along with unlimited access to SalesJobs resume bank, meaning you can browse the bank as you please.
All three packages offer additional services such as the ability to set resume screening factors and get an automated search result of resumes’ that match your required qualifications.
In addition, the SalesJobs system will send your job posting to qualified applicants for the first 30 days of the listing.
The main difference between the $299 per month package and the $399 per month package is the ability to browse the resume bank on your own as opposed to working off of the resumes you’re automatically sent through the SalesJobs system.
This could be a valuable feature, especially if you’ve got several sales positions within your company. If you have the ability to browse the resume bank freely, you just might find yourself a hidden gem of a salesperson.
Summary
If you’re in need of help in your company there’s no reason to worry. When you use the best job posting sites for your specific needs, you can be certain you’ll have a large selection of candidates to choose from.
